Far away in the north lies Snowdrop Land, a magical kingdom kept warm and safe each night by a great winter lantern glowing on the tallest hill. There lives Pip, a little seal with silver-grey fur and a sky-blue scarf, who is the fastest swimmer in the kingdom. One frosty morning she meets two new friends: Luna the puffin, who can fly high above the clouds, and Hop the Arctic hare, who can bound quickly and quietly across the snow. Together the three discover that each of them can do something special, and that their differences are exactly what make them a great team.
Then one morning the kingdom wakes to grey skies and dull snow: the winter lantern has vanished. It has not fallen and has not blown away; it is simply gone. While the worried animals whisper, Pip, Luna and Hop make a plan. Pip searches the sea, Luna scans the sky and cliffs, and Hop checks the hills and burrows, and at sunset they share every clue they find. A shiny shell, a trail of dragging footprints and a golden thread lead them toward the old ice cave by the cliffs.
The Little Polar Friends is a gentle story about teamwork, curiosity and kindness. Young readers learn how friends combine their different strengths to solve a problem, and how understanding someone else's need can matter more than blame. It is suited to children being read to at bedtime and to early readers ready for a short chapter tale.

The Little Polar Friends - Author : Aysel Banu YAVUZAL
Far away in the north, where the snow sparkles like sugar, there was a magical kingdom called Snowdrop Land. Every night, a great winter lantern glowed on the tallest hill and filled the whole kingdom with warm golden light. The animals loved that cozy glow. It meant home, and it meant everything was safe and snug. 1
In this kingdom lived a little seal named Pip. She had smooth silver-grey fur, a pale round belly, and big dark brown eyes that twinkled with curiosity. Around her neck she wore a knitted sky-blue scarf with white snowflake patterns. Pip was the fastest swimmer in all of Snowdrop Land, and she loved to zoom through the waves like a slippery silver arrow. 2
One frosty morning, Pip flopped onto the snowy shore and met two new friends. Luna the puffin had black and white feathers, a bright orange beak, and a tiny red satchel with a brass buckle. Hop the Arctic hare had fluffy white fur, very long ears with grey tips, and a moss-green wool vest with acorn buttons. 3
The three friends soon discovered something wonderful. Each of them could do something special. Pip could swim faster than anyone. Luna could fly high above the clouds and see for miles. Hop could hop quickly and quietly across the snow without sinking in. "We are all different," said Pip, "and that is what makes us a great team!" 4
They spent their days playing together. Luna would circle in the sky and call out, "Follow me!" Hop would bounce over the drifts, and Pip would race them along the shore. In the evening, they would sit together and watch the winter lantern glow. "As long as that lantern shines," said Hop softly, "our kingdom is warm and happy." 5
But one morning the friends woke up to a strange sight. The sky was grey, the snow looked dull, and the kingdom felt cold and dim. The great winter lantern on the tallest hill was gone! It had not fallen. It had not blown away. It was simply missing, and nobody knew where it had gone. 6
The animals of Snowdrop Land gathered together, worried and whispering. "Without the lantern, our kingdom will stay dark," said an old owl. Pip, Luna, and Hop looked at one another. "We can find it," said Pip bravely. "We each have a special ability. If we work together, we can solve this mystery!" 7
So the three friends made a plan. Pip would search the sea, diving deep and peeking into every icy cave. Luna would fly high and scan the sky, the cliffs, and the coastline. Hop would hop across the snow and check the hills and quiet burrows. "We will meet back here at sunset," said Luna, opening her little red satchel. "And we will share every clue." 8
Pip dove into the cold water with a splash. She swam fast past glittering fish and swaying seaweed. She peeked under frozen waves and searched every shadowy grotto. But the winter lantern was not in the sea. Still, Pip kept smiling. "No luck here," she said, "but I found a shiny shell. Maybe it is a clue!" 9
Luna flew up, up, up into the frosty air. Her sharp dark eyes looked everywhere. She checked the cliffs and the snowy rooftops. She spotted a trail of tiny footprints in the snow below. "Interesting," she said, tipping her orange beak. "Those prints look like someone was dragging something heavy. I will remember that!" 10
Hop hopped quietly through the hills. His long ears twitched at every sound. He checked behind bushes and inside burrows. Then he saw something glimmer in the snow: a little golden thread caught on a twig. "This looks like a clue," he whispered, tucking it carefully into his vest pocket. "Someone went this way." 11
At sunset, the three friends met again. Pip showed her shiny shell. Luna described the dragging footprints. Hop held up the golden thread. Luna studied everything closely. "The footprints went toward the old ice cave by the cliffs," she said. "And this golden thread? It matches the lantern's ribbon!" Hop nodded slowly. "Then someone took it there, not to steal it, but to keep it safe?" 12
Together, they hurried to the old ice cave. Inside, the cave sparkled with blue and silver light. And there, in the middle of the cave, sat the winter lantern, glowing softly. Beside it, a tired old polar bear was curled up. "I am sorry," he said. "My cub is sick, and I wanted the lantern's warmth." 13
Pip, Luna, and Hop were not angry at all. Their kind hearts understood. "You should have asked us," said Pip gently. "We are your friends, and friends help each other." Luna opened her red satchel and shared some berries. Hop pulled a soft blanket of moss from his vest. The old bear smiled for the first time in days. 14
Then, together, they carried the winter lantern back to the tallest hill. Pip pushed it from the sea side. Luna guided them from above. Hop cleared the snowy path. When the lantern was set in its place, it glowed brighter than ever. The whole kingdom lit up. The animals cheered, and the old bear and his cub stood close, warm and happy. 15
That night, the three friends sat together under the glowing lantern. "We solved the mystery," said Pip, "because we each did what we do best." Luna nodded. "I could see from above. Hop noticed the smallest clues. And you, Pip, kept us smiling." Hop wiggled his long ears.
